Default DA Exhaust choice help! Suggestions anyone?

I recently went out to look for a new exhaust. I'm sick of the tube style exhaust and the one I have on my car sounds like a lawn mower. Its a tube style magnaflow and it came with the car so I had no choice. Its so loud i'm sick of it and I know soon I will get pulled over for it as well. My question to you is, I want to put a apexi world sport style muffler.

It looks like this:

People say it will have fitment problems so unless someone has one on there DA I dont think I'm going to get one. Should I just stick with stock exhaust and weld a tip? I want a good flowing exhaust but I dont want to spend alot on brand name or a tube style exhaust. If you have any setup that is not a tube style exhaust please post pics and your setup. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and pics would be great!

How about the RSR EX Mag? Its supposed to be the quietest one available yet it has a low tone to it at idle Although it doesnt look like that WS you posted.

Yea but I'm not trying to spend awhole lot of money. Should I just get a 22'' resonator and leave the magnaflow exhaust? The car sounds horrible. Damn fart can and its loud as fawk.

Leaving at 12 so any suggestions would be nice. I still dont know if I should go get a stock muffler and weld a tip or should I just add a 22" resonator on the magnaflow.

I've got a Greddy MX cat back exhaust, and its not tube style. I bought it back in 2001 for $430 with a discount (list was $599). I don't have any pics online of it on my car, and couldn't find any online in any catalogs, which would lead me to believe its discontinued? Anyway, I think it looks good, and its not overly loud.

I think my option is to either weld a resonator or a new exhaust with a welded tip?

I'd maybe look for a used non-tube cat back system. check the http://www.G2IC.com classifieds.

I'm still looking for non-tube style exhausts. Didnt get it yesterday so I may have time to buy one today. I may possibly get flow master and weld a tip on.

alright bro.. the only other options i got for you are this:

go to ebay, or h-t's class. forums and try to find a used system..

*or*

go to midas, minake, or some exhaust place, and get a custom set of pipes bent for you for like 100-120/40 bucks, get a muffler w/ tip.. and be set.. or if u just want another sound.. and it'll free up some flow, but not as much as a full header/cat back system.. get an axle back system, but i don tknow if theres that many made for our DA's.. i know i've seen about 2 or 3 axle back systems in my day

I'm used to v8's and mufflers, and I know that a 12" and 22" yield very, very different sounds.

I'd try the 22" first, they're only about $25.

It should be an enormous difference, they quiet down true duals very well

Ive seen people around here with the traditional style muffler in the stock location, they have to run the pipe accross the bottom of the car which need more than a 90 degree angle, twice. Looks a little odd, but looks ok if you paint the pipes black. Ive seen a couple of people run it on the passenger side as well. Looks ok, except the exhaust cut out is on the wrong side. I believe RJ Devera did it on his white GS-R show car back in the 90s with a mugen exhaust.

I went and got a resonator welded instead of changing it. Definitly kept the car quiet.
