stop the car.... rev it up.... dump the clutch. the feeling that your fillings are gonna come loose and the dash is gonna rattle off the frame? thats wheel hop
Wheel hop is also known as peg-legging... It occurs on an open differential Hondas... which to an extent drives the power to the wheel with the least amount of grip... so if you break traction on a launch, more power will be go the path of least resistance: to the spinning wheel.
You can test this by putting your front right wheel on ice (in the winter obviously), and make sure your front left wheel are on drive pavement... try and start up and you'll notice that the right wheel will spin and you won't move anywhere!
sucks not to have an LSD now doesn't it?

no, thats not quite wheel hop. Wheel hop is caused by the following:
-you launch... weight shifts off the front wheels, you loose traction
-when you loose traction, acceleration reduces. more weight in the front, gain traction back
-the increased traction gives you acceleration. which shifts weight back, causing you to loose traction again
-repeat over and over again very fast until you break something or you shake yourself to pieces.

Yeah wheel hop is bad your chassis flexes under wheel hop. It can't be good. It happens all day when I race. But I fugured I could solve it with some springs and urethane motor mounts.
