Default yet another f22b2 turbo question

hello,

i did a search, but i didnt find exactly what im looking for. ive been considering an h22 swap, but for the money i could just as easily run a small turbo setup. ill only run 7psi daily and 10psi every now and then. question is, WITH a properly tuned management system (hondata), what can i expect the effect of the turbo to be on my stock internals; better put...how long can they last? sadly i have 192k on the engine, but with 180-185 compression across the cylinders. im not looking to run m4d kill4 boost...just something that is a little quicker, and a little more exciting.

thanks

I think the h22 would be better, cuz you getting a newer engine and trans. But thats just my opinion.

The compression seems a little low, but I could be wrong.

IMO with the higher miles I would opt for a h22...you could always go turbo with that .

i believe good stock compression on our f22's is 178...so its not too shabby for its age. thanks all for your input!

couldnt you turbo it for now and then use the same turbo once you have enough for the H22... or just go with the h22 and save for the turbo????

you could...but why waste a good engine? turbo the f till it kabooms, and then buy the h (i believe youll need a diff turbo manifold afterwards) and use the same kit. why would you try and give up a 200k motor that has decent compression when you could turbo it and save for the h. if you still have the motor when you gots enough dough for the h, put a zillion shot of nitrous oxide on it and let it go in style.

Given those choices, I'd probably turbo the f. It'll be fast enough to spank any h22's, but it will be a little more pricey.

In actuality what I'd do is buy an h22 longblock (no trans) and turbo that. Find someone who tunes uberdata and save your self some $$. Would end up being about the same as if you went hondata on the f (uberdata is uberhard on f, only 1 basemap and its rich. Pun intended btw)

well tuned athiest is right, the turbo f would spank the h. but getting tuned is important because its not so much how much but when you make it. you could get the longblock for like 1500 piece together a turbo kit for another 1500. but i would still not waste an engine with a decent compression like taht

ive been reading up on uberdata, and i like more and more of course tuning is the most important thing about a turbo setup! im very partial to my f22...id really hate to give it up...so im going with a turbo setup. i know a turbo'd h22 would make the most power, but hell...if i wanted that i would have just bought a junked 240 and popped a sr20 or rb25det in there. when my little f22 blows i may consider an h22, but then again, i could just build the f22 up to be a beast. ya'll know you love the f22!

does anyone know if the uberdata basemap for the F series will work with an F23?
