vtec wont engage help

Default vtec wont engage help

my vtec aint working. ive searched and i was told to clean the screen on the vtec solenoid. after doing so my vtec still wont engage. i know vtec aint working cuzz i redline at 6.5. i dont know what else to do

let the car warm up, check the oil level, check the coolant level.

any CELs?

Yeah I would check oil level first. And then maybe clean the filters again and then check wiring. If not any of those maybe a faulty solenoid.

What codes are you pulling?

i found out the problem. i was pumping 87 for gas, but when i pumped in 91 my vtec started working again.

you were probablu knocking thus your ecu limited your function... 6500 rpm redline explains it.
