Clutch Wont go into gear
I can shift in to any gear when the engine is off....but when the engine is running...I can't put it in any gear!...My foot is all the way down on the pedal..and it just wont go in first gear....you think it might be my slave cylinder? or master?..fluids look good..no leaks.
how do you know if those go bad?

NO I dont really grind...someone told me it could be the springs on the pressure plate..broke when I stalled..but I'm hoping thats not it..cuz its gonna hurt my wallet.
what are the symtoms of bad slave or master cylinders?

Chances are you did pop a spring in your clutch disc...
It's obviously a clutch problem...this is determined because it goes into gear when the car is off, but not when it is on.
My advice: Go buy an exedy clutch kit (like $250), and throw that in there...I had the same problem about a year ago...and i love the exedy clutch.

This same exact problem just happened to me 2 weeks ago. There was even a clutch put into it like 2,000 miles ago. The problem was that one of the flywheel bolts was loose for some reason(bad installation maybe) and was grinding up the springs on the clutch. Dunno if that's the case for you, but good luck..
sounds like a clutch problem to me. I had the same thing happened to me about 2 years ago, and sure enough, 2 of the springs were broken. Replace the clutch and you should be good to go!!

what an informative post...those one word answers will definately help out his situation...
I wouldn't mind if your post was correct...but it's not even correct...it's obvious it's not the syncros, because the chance of all of his syncros in every gear blowing out at the same time is nearly impossible.
stupid post

yeah, don't listen to that quy that said it was your synchros...obviously didn't read the post or doesn't know what he's talkin about...I have the same exact problem in my teg and it's nothing to do with the tranny at all...just the clutch assembly
If you happen to get it into gear, see what the travel on your clutch is like, see if theres almost none left, if thats the case then its more then likely your slave cylinder on your clutch.Check your fluid, see if its down. I had the same problem with my car a little while ago, there was a leak in the slave cylinder and it dumped all the fluid and my clutch fell to the floor.
I had the same prob, and it was in need of a clutch replacement and flywheel turn.
when i pulled the clutch out it was destroyed some pieces laying around and no pad left on clutch.
It started with just tough to shift into, then a little grinding, then alot of grinding, then nothing.
but it was fine when the car wasn't running also, it would shift around fine but when started no luck...Also try changing tranny fluid just to make sure, see what it looks like..
good luck

same thing just happened to me and i started with fixing the small parts and went big....dont waste your time with the master and slave cylinders.....gears can still change when you have a bad master...the final thing that got fixed after trial and error was just the clutch itself....finally worked...good luck!
