is this good deal? : JRSC...help me
ok so i was going ls/vtec then i found a great deal on a used JRSC, complete kit for my b18b...it is 1300 for the ready to bolt on setup plus nology wires, a CRV pulley which bumps it up 2-4 psi, all thats missing are belts...i know how turbo is a better option but that would be more expensive...im just wondering if i shoudl go ahead with the purchase or not...any JRSC experience would be great 2 thanks in advance
Yeah the JRSC runs great. It's only good to about 10psi though. Pushing any more than that will cause some heat issues. Other than that they are very reliable and you get good performance and great throttle response. As long as its in good shape and nothing needs to be relaced I'd go for it.
yeah i just was grabbed by the price...cua i know they are expensive for the power u get out of it i dont think it would be worth it brand new...
I wouldnt waste time JRSCing an B18B. For not much more you can find a used turbo kit that will make more power than the JRSC ever would. And you would end up spending way more than the difference in initial price to get the JRSC to make the power a bolt-on, untuned turbo kit would make anyway.
Not enough potential with JRSC B18B's, IMO.

As a true fan of roots blowers, it pains me to agree with this.

The 45 cubic inch blower that comes with the B18b kit has less potential than the larger VTEC kits, and as such, I'd also recommend something different. If you're able to get a larger VTEC jrsc kit, there is the option to modify a b16/ITR intake manifold to run the M62 blower on your non-VTEC motor. If that's not an option, a turbo kit with intercooler abilities will be a better choice.
With that said, take a look at this thread from one of my old customers. I installed an LS motor into his EK, and about a year later he went M45 jrsc. He's not far away from the 13's with the setup, which both surprised, and impressed me.

maybe the M45 jrsc can be a worthy upgrade?

ive got the jrsc on my b18b.. very very torquey.. 2.0 60fts on street tires..
i personally wouldnt have paid retail price for the jrsc though.. so if you can get a good deal on it, i would say jump on it..
for 1300, you could probably just build a custom turbo kit..
with the jrsc, the potential is somewhat limited.. you could always change to a crv crank pulley and up the boost to about 8psi.. also, a 3" intake and bigger tb will help a lot.. the fmu will be ok to start off with but later on, you'll probably wanna switch over to uberdata or hondata to get the full potential..
