Default 91 Accord - Oil in intake tubing...

I did a search and came up with a few results, all of which dealt with the oil sitting in the opposite end of the tubing; near the intake manifold...so they didn't really help....

Just a few minutes ago I was cleaning out the filter in my Accord...it has the ebay short ram intake...and when I took the filter off, there was a tiny puddle of oil in there....right next to where the filter is...it wasn't the red oil you use to oil the filter either...it was engine oil....

It's not where the valve cover breather is either, it's closer to the end of the filter....just wondering what the hell it could be...I'm betting it is a bit of blowby? Still, that can't be good.

In 2 and a half weeks, I'm planning on driving the Accord to Myrtle Beach...about a 1500 mile round trip (of which on the way home, I will roll over 250,000 miles, yes!) but this may upset those plans if it's something more major than I believe...

Ummm, what else could you need to know....car runs great, idles very quietly, everything works...I occasionally get my oil light to come on, but I've traced that to a faulty Oil Sending Unit, so I'm not terribly concerned with that...

Honestly? I baby this thing more than my R as far as driving goes. It gets driven very easily. Oil changed every 2500 and checked at least once a week. It does not burn a single drop either. I NEVER have to add any after I check it.

So that's it...any ideas?

Also...when I acquired my ebay short ram intake, the one "bung" was too far to the left...I know what hose goes into the bung, but it doesn't reach....it's the very small hose that comes out of the other side of the intake manifold...what is that for? I think I should get it replaced so that it does reach....

The valve cover breather hose reaches fine, it's just the other one that is short. Thanks guys.

does your intake aim down slightly? cause the last bit of oil sucked thorugh the valve cover tube could settle and roll downwards if the filter is slightly lower than the throttle body.

there still shouldnt be a "puddle" near it... but i really have no clue about this one, i never experienced any drops in my intake before... but with the tubing, all the hoses should be connected, ive read a few people had slight problems with not connecting that extra hose. good luck!

If it's slight, it's very slight because I never have to add any oil...

I'll have to fix that hose though, I know that.
