Default is 8 gauge enough?

i am in the midst of relocating the battery on my 96 prelude vtec, and i was going to use 8 gauge to run from the alternator to the back (kill switch) and the up to the fuse box. i will also be using an MSD 6al and a blaster 2 coil with it. a friend of mine told me that the cable is too small and i need to go bigger. the instructions for the kill switch said to use a 10 min but that looked to small so i went with an 8. also i have a stock system with no sub and a pioneer deck. will 8 gauge be enough? TIA

I would think not, why are you relocating it in the first place. I used 4ga but 6ga is probably ok.

i think 8 gauge is too small, especially considering the wire is going to be longer and have more resistance.

you're going to need 4 gauge.

are you going to put the kill switch inline, or have a relay?
