94 accord Temperature gauge looks wet (But it cant be)
So the temperature gauge started acting up. jumping around sporadically. And saying the car was overheating. But I dont think it was.
Then my wife noticed the temperature gauge looked like it had a wet spot. It was the only gauge like that.
My theory is maybe the gauge coil is overheating and melting the plastic face of the gauage.
I have no idea where to start. The sender, the gauge, replacing the whole dash.
My first thought was to replace the gauge. So I picked one up at the junkyard and thw bolt pattern is different and the cool coil is smaller. Lol.
So I thought before I go back for another I'd ask here and see if anyone had a better theory.
Anyone here experience this before?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

i've recently been through this year FSM for the past two weeks. lol the switch is a single wire sender, just translates temperature as resistance. you COULD switch clusters to see if it fixes it. i'd check the sending switch myself. you can get a test done via FSM just reads if it's in range or not.
