jus curious a friend has a b17 head and willing to give it to me.... not sure i always hear of b16 and gsr heads on the LS but not the b17......the b17 is the DA gsr right? wondering if i can use that on my car in the future...i have a 97 LS wondering if a that 92 gsr head is compatible with it? worth it? never really wanted to go LS/vtec but a free head? now im considering it.....

 

If its a b-series it should fit. I had a b16 head on a b18(c1) block for the longest time. Just make sure you get new head studs and new head gasket.

 

yeah the B17 head will work but you have to do a lot more than slap the head on for ls/vtec conversion. do your homework and you'll find the ls/vtec combo is very strong and very reliable. a lot of people are using the B16 head off the civic si. it is pretty cheap and you can use a lot of the gsr parts on it too. i myself am staying all motor non-vtec and will conquer all competition with ported and polished jdm parts......i am just playin i got a good deal on the parts so i went with this setup instead...

 

I have the b17 head on my b18b block. Ls.vtec combo. Dont make the mistake of taking the cheap route man. Do it right. It is a lot more than you think it is to make it work together.
