Damn it! New aem intake filter cracked!
I just got a brand new aem sri and the rubber on the filter has cracked, damn this intake has given nothing but problems. Also I am still leakin' coolant to the hose under the throttle body that I replaced with the aem hose. Is there a warranty for this? Any help would be appreciated.....
They will most likely replace it....though its likely install error and not their fault. That last pic (posted by ej8pwr) looks like awfully hard rubber for AEM...generally their rubber is much softer then that appears to be.

how can you screw it on too tight? it is a rubber material and should conform, not crack

That looks more plastic than rubber and when you screw the clamp down too hard on plastic, it cracks.

the clamps edge is sharpe. so under havey vibration, it's been cutting the rubber.

DO NOT USE THE STOCK AEM FILTERS w/ STANDARD (cheapy) HOSECLAMPS. They do make good products, but I have seen this time after time. The rubber they use is nice and soft and makes for an ultra lightweight filter, but, the hoseclamp will cut into it just by its simple design. The only way to avoid that is using a Tclamp where you dont have the adverse effects of cheap hoseclamps. I suggest running a harder rubber filter with metal top and bottom.

No, dont stress over it. I ran the cheap hose clamps that came with my AEM CAI for years with no problems. Just make sure you get true AEM products and not cheap EBAY crap with a 99 cent sticker attached to it.
