You might also want to check out GEMS home page in the UK
http://www.gems.co.uk

I believe the PnP kit that AEM is offering is the EM20 kit after a make over and the pro kit is the EM55 kit. Either way there is little doubt that they are using a GEMS engine in both products.

This is actually a good thing because GEMS has actually been doing this for a while so the AEM products will actually have a good track record from the beginning. However I have to laugh at the Made in the USA badge on the AEM web page.

This is looking like a very serious tool.

Some things to consider when you look at the $1800 suggested price for the PnP:

Custom ECU route:
1) Custom ECU ~ $400
2) VAFC ~$300
3) J&S safeguard ~ $550
3) Data logging will set you back?
3) Wide band O2 sensor receiver will set you back?

Total: $1250 + Dyno time anytime you want to tune or see what is going on.

PowerFC route:
1) Power FC $1300
2) J&S safeguard $550
3) Wide band 02 support?!
4) NO English software!

Total: $1800 without software and perhaps wide band 02 support (still looking for this answer)

GEMS / AEM route:
1) PnP AEM kit $1850 suggested retail but figure it will likely be less once its on the shelves
2) UEGO Honda Wide Band 02 sensor $100

Total: $1900 with everything you need to actually do on/off dyno tuning including data logging etc.

If it turns out that the PowerFC does not support UEGO 02 sensors then I would count that as a major strike against it! This capability is HUGE!
