Default AEM Engine management

Hey guys, I recently bought a supra so I've been over those boards more lately. This came up and I thought you all might be interested.

Best word now is $1300 for the P&P system.. might just go that route for my Civic next year.

I am rather new at the stand alone systems. What are the main differences between the plug and play system and the race system? Which one is more similar to the Hondata 4b? Anyone heard a price on the Race System???

From what I've read and heard, the P&P system is a direct plug into your current harness (OBD-II also), and is tuneable via a Window's Desktop interface. The Race system requres some hard-wiring into the car and offers a huge array of options to tune. The P&P system supposedly comes with pre-programmed "MAP's" to be used a bases to tune your car as well, so can't wait to see it out on the streets already, start saving now!

Are you talking about the install of the program itself? Or running it?

I got it to install easily enough.

Turbo97

My question was running it.

It installed fine for me I think.

I hit the icon and the program starts, Then what? Where do you go to get the wizard?

Yeah, I didn't see the wizard. You can click on file, new, expand AEM15GEN, and then select V0.21. I did not see the specific selection for say a Honda Civic which is how it shows on the website. Once you load that V0.21 file your toolbar fills up and there are ALL kinds of options, my brain hurts.

Yeah, I found that too. It's very confusing, but very impressive. It would be alot easier to play around with if you could at least put your car in.

I heard its 1/1/02 for the Supras. I have no idea if they're releasing all the models at the same time or not.

Ok, i got the info now, the race one is coming out in December and the plug and play is coming out in January. Retail for the P&P is 1865 or something like that and the race is costing 2400.

That was from AEM's site.. If it is P&P why is vehicle rewiring needed? And who actually makes this ECU because everybody knows that AEM makes as many products as Endyn. Did they borrow some of Larry's magic dust? I guess it's theirs since their sticker is on it....

very eloquent of you.
anyone have anything intellegent to say?
does the control timing? will it handle boost?
i'm looking for something capable of handing 7-12 lbs.
and if a POS will work for me, then the POS gets my $400.
only other product that can compare for that price is the Vafc trick.. but with that you still have to get the MSD to control timing. goodbye value

any comments are appreciated

Well eloquent or not, piggy back computers will always be piggy back computers. This toy is the same thing as an EFI PMS, and that has been out for a long time.
