Pre 99 Climate Control - Getting The Parts To The UK
Hey there, I was looking for a spot of advice.
I have all the details necessary to do the climate control conversion to my car (even though my car is a +99 car, we never had the climate control option here, just A/C)
My question, where in the states could I get the parts in order to complete the conversion ? I'm looking for a reputable breakers yard/parts merchant where I can order the parts and know the right things gonna turn up ! Returns from the UK would be a little costly and it's not something I can afford to do !
Therefore if anyone could offer me some internet based companies, highly recommended companies etc I would be greatful, I know you have a lot of people out there that know the conversions and the parts required so these are the sort of people I need I guess.
Any suggestions muchly appreciated.

your sayin the 99+ civic had climate control?? what time of climate control are you talkin about? there is heat, a/c and air.. nothing that sets it to a temp that you would like it set to.. i some cars in japan had climate control, or AUTO switch on the dash for the a/c and heat..
Sorry for the confusion,
Basically the type with the 3 dials, instead of being cable driven the controls are motorised, so you have in effect a double DIN sized opening for the radio.

yeah our 99+ cars come with that. I would contact http://www.importautosalvage.com those guys are reputable and know Hondas well . . . .
BTW it looks like the pound to dollar conversion is in your advantage right now! So these parts should be a pretty good deal.

you need a "climate control" from a 99-00 civic.. 96-98 civic are different.. there is a writeup by a guy named Chamelieon i think.. that is his AOL screen name.. maybe get ahold of him and ask him for the link i cant find it on honda-tech right now
Thanks for your help folks, to answer your questions, yes, the EK9 I guess in Japan and the 99 onwards "climate control" setup you have over there.
I spoke to Cam about the conversion (ref the actual conversion, and whether there would be much difference in a uk car) but not about parts. If I can find him online I shall ask.
Keep the suggestions coming folks, muchly appreciated !
I should just try and get a job in the states, it'd be easier in the long run

So obvious I don't know why I didnt think of it.
It's gonna have to be Jap EK9 stuff, as the US stuff is all going to be **** about face.
I don't know how much of a problem that is likely to be, but I imagine a large one. I shall need to get under the dash and see if it would all bolt up in reverse if you like.
Time to find a friendly Jap importer
