Lugnut torque specs?

Default Lugnut torque specs?

What should the lugnuts on 96 Hatch be torqued to?

82 i think. might have been 88. i dont remember.

i usually torque mine to 82, but if i dont have a torque wrench around, i just do hand tight.

They arent supposed to be too tight...thats why they give you a short *** lug wrench to change your flat tires with.

I tq all my lugs to 90 ft lbs. I have yet to have a problem been doing it for 10 years that way.

Yea the manual is 80 but anywhere between 80-90 are not bad at all. You wont do any damage if your in between those specs.

Where are you guys getting these numbers from? Honda reccomends 80 lb-ft.

every manual that I've seen clearly states 80ft-lbs.

I just tighten them by hand. A little force until I feel enough "stress" on the lug.

No they don't! They give you a small lug wrench so it fits in your spare tire well or trunk lining easily.

If anyone cares Honda recommends 80 lb/ft. Any of the figures loosely being thrown around will work though.
