Default '88 CRX...grinding during turn and strange sound while cruising.

My roommate has an '88 CRX (5 speed manual, power steering) that has a few issues. One, is that during a turn there is grinding noise (not a knock due to bad CV joints or a squeal due to a bad power steering belt). There is also a noise that sounds like it could be a wheel bearing, since it increases in intensity as the car speeds up. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing the grinding sound during the turns and if there are any common CRX drivetrain problems such as wheel bearings that could cause a noise during regular driving? Thanks in advance.

my first guess would be wheel berrings, or mabee even a bad knuckle on one of the axles.
