Rear Brake Lights Out?
I was driving in front of my friend on my way home.He called me up and told me my brake lights were not working.I thought this was weird too have both and the hatch light out.Is there some wires in the engine bay connected too them?I just removed my ac so i may have unhooked something i shouldnt have.Otherwise what could it be?I find it weird for 3 lights too blow at once.
Did u try checking the fuse? If the fuse is good try taking out the rear taillights. On the backside of the light assembly there's a layer of foam stuff, peel if off carefully and check the wires to make sure they're not separated. I had a taillight that went out and when I checked it someone had changed the socket and the crimp came apart. i don't know if that would make all the lights not work but it's something to check. Good Luck

well i havent touched any part of the lights since i got the car. There all stock all the components.Maybe when i removed some of the ac a short happend. Not sure.Im gonna try putting in a new brake light switch today, seems vary hard too get at.
Isnt the fuse the same as the horn?I Believe it works fine, because the horn works. If its different i didnt check it then.I went too acura today and it was 53 dollars for a new switch that they didnt even stock. What a rip off.
When this happened in my 95 GS-R last year at 121,000mi, it turned out to be the brake light switch. Turned out to be impossible to get my hands on it, even though I could see it fine. Dealer billed me for 1/2 hour labor plus $60 for the part. Problem solved.
this is how i tackel my customers cars w/similar problems...checking the fuse is the first step in this type of situation, then check the bulb, thatll be the next cheapest thing....ive seen it where all the bulbs burn out about the same time, or even just one bulb will burn out, and theyll be on a series and the other bulbs dont work bc the ones out (kinda like old xmas lights!) if none of that works, try the switch. oh, and of course check those wire while your back there! i use this method on all makes/models of vehicles and i dont remeber if our tegs lights do the xmas light effect! good luck!
