gauge cluster problem.

From: double clutchin' in a hood near you...it's crazy right?
Default gauge cluster problem.

i just recently picked up a 00 si gauge cluster, and i want to swap it into my DX. the other day i tried to unscrew my stock gauge cluster, but i was only able to get out the left screw. the right screw isn't stripped, but it's so tight i can't get it out. anyone have any ideas? please...

you should try a better screw driver with a better grip, like a snap on... or a screwdriver that has a better tip...

usually when this happens, i hit the screwdriver in with a hammer or something, then twist as hard as i can...

yeah i tried turning real hard with a gripped screw driver but it barely budged. i was thinking about using a power drill like blackhtch said, but there is barely enough room to get the screw driver at a angle, seeing as how the steering wheel is blocking my way.

sometimes screw drivers have duller tips over years of use. try using one thats newer and has no wear especially one that has a nice handle or grip

or while your at it pick up a apexi vafc or afc. you can look at that tach because its more accurate than stock

get one of those screwdrivers with horizontal lines cut in the blades. sears has them. that will do the trick. also try some WD-40 if room permits

You must be a weakling, those shouldnt be in there that tight.

Mine were in sort of tight, I heard a solid snap when I got them loose, but it wasnt anywhere near difficult.

try a ratchet with a coupler and philips bit, maybe that will give you the torque/room you need. and/or like nickatiah
said, WD40 that bish.

I took mine out and they were easy.......... Like Everybody else is saying wd40 da piece and muscle it out
