Can I use a 99-00 Civic Si engine wire harness for my 99 Gsr swap?
I have a 98 Civic hb and I will be putting in a 99 b18c1. Can I use a 99-00 Civic Si engine wire harness? I read the swap info (sticky) up above....but all it said was there may be problems not sure what though. Does anybody know if I can do this without any problems?
ok, lets say I just get a 96-98 civic ex harness and I want to run the ecu from the 99 gsr but I don't want to buy a jumper harness....what pins would I need to switch to make this work?
The 96-98s use the A, C, and D connectors (1st, 3rd, and 4th connectors). The B connector on 96-98 are used for automatic transmissions.
99+ use the A, B, C connectors.
You'll need that B connector and a Helms manual to know what wire hooks up to what.

anybody have any links to a wire diagram.....I need somebody to tell me exactly what I need to do to make this work. Pics would be great!!
So what's the best thing to do? get a 96-98 ex wire harness or should I just modify my dx wire harness?

whats up man i am running the same set up... and i am going to ref soon. I origninally used my DX harness and added the necessary wires... it ran great with only one engine code that had nothing to do with the wiring. I am going to put in a 99-00 civic si harness and run a 99-00 si computer on my 98 gsr motor in my 96 hatch. It should fit pretty well... the only thing i hear you have to do is lengthen some wires. IF you get any info on this please let me know gl man

Famous last words from people who don't search/own a Helms manual...
Good luck using a 99-00 Si harness in a OBD2a chassis. And good luck on eliminating the fuel tank pressure sensor code when using a 99-00 Si ECU in a 96 hatch - your hatch shouldn't have come with a FTP sensor.
The easiest thing to do is re-use your existing harness and add the wires needed to complete the swap. If you try using a Y8 harness, which will work, you'll still have to add some wires.
