ANOTHER tps question
ok, i keep getting a cel 7. i checked my tps voltages and everything is ok. i reset the ecu (unplugged the ecu fuse and its backup) and i continue to get the CEL. Im not losing any significant amount of power but im idling around 750 rpm when the car is warm (i assume thats an acceptable number, just a little low). has anyone had this problem and what did they do about it? thanks. oh ya, its a gen 2 jdm b16.
you might want to disconnect the battery...we have a JDM b16a SirII in our teg and i tried to reset the ecu with the fuse thing...didn't work..but i disconnected the battery and that did the trick.
Good luck.
Good luck.
i did that too, same thing, but i have heard that sometimes the factory sets ecu's to set the check engine light to go off after Xxxx amount of miles, is this true for honda? and is there someway to clear the ecu's memory (other than disconnecting batter and ecu fuses)
i bet the tps is broken. take if off and i bet the spring and the little black thing will fall out. this happened to my friends car. it kept throwing the tps code. the tps sensor looked fine and the volts read good, but when we took the tps sensor off, it was broken on the inside. he has a jdm ls motor. mine was broken too when i got my jdm gsr motor.
Make sure it's not broken and then try another one that you know works and see if that makes the CEL go away....or maybe get one from a junkyard...

btw, my speedometer is fucked up too, could the tps be the cause of this? sometimes it stays at 0 mpn and other times it is at the correct speed and other times it flails from 140 mph to 20 mph. anyone?
