Default What does this screw do? (A6 fuel rail)

I've searched through my helms and this forum but I can not find out what that little screw on the "in" side of the d16a6 fuel rail does. It screw into the piece that holds the fule line onto the rail. I'm asking because I did a mpfi swap last summer and never screwed it back in and am experienceing some odd intermitten starting probs (no, its not the main relay).

Does it just hold on that plastic piece? Or does it serve a purpose? Thanks guys.

It just holds the plastic piece, and the plastic piece acts like a dampener to reduce vibrations.
