1990 Accord not shifting
I was driving down the street when the rpms shoot up and the car was no longer in gear. its and Automatic 2.2L LX. I turned the car off for a minute or two then tried again to get it into gear. it shifted into first and after about 20 meters it fell out of gear again. I just replaced the ATCU(trans computer) about a month ago. Any ideas what could be causing this?

What does the fluid look like? Is it stinky? Is it full?

Does it start working again after it sits for a while? Does it start acting up after driving 1 to 5 miles?

The day it broke down I let it sit for 15min or so and it worked again but only for 20 meters or so then it would fall out of gear. I have not tried it again because i dont want to get stuck away from my house again. Would it work to put the car on jack stands and test it to see if it falls out of gear?

We used to get some 90 and 91 Accords that the lining for the lock-up clutch would disintegrate. As they were driven the little pieces of clutch material would get caught in the pick-up screen. When enough pieces got caught there they would block the flow of atf and the car wouldn't move. After shutting of the engine for a while, the stuff would drop off and settle to the bottom and the tranny would operate normally until it clogged up again. It usually took about 1 to 5 miles to get them to act up. I havn't seen one doing this for a few years now.
You might want to remove the shift solenoids and look for "trash" in them, also jumper the check connector and see if you have any trans codes...If the trans will work after sitting a few mins, then I'd say the screen is getting plugged up; too bad it's inside the trans. When the torque converters start coming apart they put out a paper mulch looking stuff. If that is your case you might be able to drop the trans pull the case and clean it out, then replace the torque converter.
