Possible new beater project in the making...SOHC/GREDDY.....
Well boys, I happen to stumble apon a clean 94 dx coupe with a half dead motor for 1g....Now I was originally just going to throw a motor in it and sell it for a profit,but then then when my buddy told me he had a free sohc vtec to throw in there (thanks chris!!), thats when the turbo addiction took over..
..The 172k mile donor motor and trans was in decent shape (other than the melted valve from the previous owner..2 much laughing gas)
..So I bought a valve and had it put in for 40 bucks total, and the car was up and running w/ 180-200 psi across the board...Total investment so far (incl new battery), 1,100 bucks. I figure since I had good luck with the greddy kit on my b18b hatch, I would try one out on the old d-series motor..I want to keep the total investment at around 2500-3000 bucks...My goal for this beater will be 12.80@109 on slicks running 10 psi....So what do u all think??Possible??? I will try to make even more belivers out of the greddy kits (again), and will keep everyone posted with the progress....Oh, one more thing, I would also like to run the blue box with an aem adj fp regulator...Everyone knows I dont skimp on fuel managemant...

so another $1400-$1900.. that will be tough. it would depend on what parts you already have and what you can get cheap.. good luck though !

I actually took it down to the track friday and ran a blistering 16.1@85 mph...Now this is also with a dx tranny and completely stock motor,exhaust,even timing....I thought that was not too bad...I will be taking it back down next week with the si tranny,hollowed out cat,advanced timing,(and donated dc header..chris is the man
).....I might even throw some 22 in. street slicks on....Hoping for 15.1-15.4 like this.....

I think the 12.8 on slicks is doable, but 109 mph with 10 psi out of the td04-15g probably isn't, unless you can get the car under 2000lbs.
Just for comparison, my hatch at approx 1950lbs(w/o driver) on 9.5 psi ran 12.6's at 109 mph with BFG drag radials, 1.9-2.0 60ft.

JFK78----Whats up man!!!Good to hear from you....If there is anyone who knows about the single cams its you!!!Well, if I cant crack 109 on 10 psi,I will have to just turn up the wick....You know how that goes..Plus this is a very cheap no holds barred project..The car will probably see upward of 15 psi eventually....BTW, do u have any greddy turbos or associated parts you are trying to get rid of???pm me if you do...thanks

Just a quick update with the old dx monster...She pulled a 15.1 twice last night at cecil county...Thats with the ex tranny,a donated dc header, a donated cat back, and a donated monster tach (so now I can tell where to shift..
) Special thanks to DJ, Chris, and Gabby...Oh, sorry the turbo kit isnt on yet...Still lookin for a gangsta *** deal....Also lookin for some more free parts, so feel free to donate..I know I sound kinda greedy, but this is fun...sorry
