Default What is the best route? H22A or rebuild f23a1

i recently put a FMAX kit on my factory F23A1. I had lots of trouble getting it to run correctly. I fucked up the bottom end of the motor from running way to lean when the car was not running correctly. Now that the turbo put the strain on the motor it is showing the damage that i did. I have been told that i probably messed up the ringlands or messed up the rings themselves.

So, i have given my self two options:
1) get my block sleaved and new pistons(F23A1)
2) H22A swap and go ahead and sleave it to.

What do you guys think would be the best!

what are you going to use to tune the h22? i would say go ahead and get that...but f series engines are somewhat cheap if you got your still getting your tuning issues down go ahead and get another stock block. depends how much mula you want to spend

Well the car was finally running correctly. Needed to go to dyno and that was it.

I guess a better question is, can i even get parts to rebuild the F23A1 without buying a factory bottom end?

Well as long as you didn't mess the cylinder walls up too deep then you don't need to resleeve an f23 because it has iron sleeves, just get it rehoned or bored out .25 and rehoned for some forged pistons... But hey if you are a crazy kinda guy and if you have to tear the engine apart anyways you should buy an h22 head and slap it on your f23 block...

I have an F23A1 turbo for almost a year now and it's great. If I where to upgrade I def. would get it built. Maybe just rehoned since stock sleeves can hold a decent amount of power, Pauter rods, and custom CP pistons/rings.

Pick up an AEM EMS unit and put down some major power.

as far as i can tell there isnt much of an aftermarket, but im sure you could find a decent low miles bottom end for very cheap
