Default retro fit HID question.

for those of you who have HID's on EK's... do you leave that factory guard in the headlight? like the part that kinda blocks light from shooting straight out? I just put a Acura 3.2 TL kit in my car and it looks like **** when im driving... all shooting everywhere, i guess i need to get those adapter plates that prevent the light from shooting up, but i didnt know if you still left that plastic stuff in the Headlight assembly....

I have asked that question before...the general answer was you can cut them out but many people said to leave them in to help prevent excess glare...I have oem ctr headlamps which don't come w/'em

what you need are casper shields....see this thread (has a link to where to get 'em)

sounds to me like you need projectors. people have swapped hid's into legends and had the same problem; projectors was a quick fix.

Did you just use the balbs and ballest from the TL? The problem is both USDM Civic as well as CTR headlamps are not at ALL intended for the proper spread and spctrum of HID's. You'll need to find an OEM HID projector to retrofit in there. Doesn't matter if you leave the little casper shield in or not. Still looks like **** and blinds everyone on the road.

Jesus Christ just about any. Have you done a search? There's a 10+ page article plus many more on HID Retrofiting. I.E. retrofiting an OEM projector into you Civic Housing and actually getting a proper beam pattern.

Casper shield or not they look the same. LIKE ****.

Those aftermarket projectors are about worthless to. Don't waste your money on those.
