A few weeks ago my skunk2 short shifter was installed. Before it I rev'ed 4k+ and shifted with no problem (Stock DX). After it was installed, when I hit 3rd gear past 4k it grinds. Under 4k it's fine. And only my 3rd gear. What might be wrong? Maybe I shouldn't even be shifting past 4k? A friend of mine says it's probably the synchro. Gonna get it check out next week... But any ideas? Also how much would a new synchro cost?

 

I think I would put the OE shifter back in to test it out. You can always try switching to GM synchromesh as well.
