Okay, So I realize that this topic has been covered numerous times...but I couldnt find the exact answer i wanted through searching.

I have a 94 civic ex, and from what I read the tranny on the d16 sucks, for acceleration at least... being a poor bastard I cant afford a engine swap but I was wondering if maybe there is tranny you can swap in keeping the d16 but getting better acceleration.

What tranny could do this, and how much do they go for? Thanks

 

The EX tranny is the best geared stock tranny. SRR makes 4.7 and 4.9 final drives to replace the stock 4.4 though. They sell for under $400 but factor in labor charges before tackling that mod.
