Just got back from my 1st auto-x
I don't even know where to begin. I had to wait about 5 hours before my group's turn, during which time I got to watch alot, get really nervous, and did find a way to get a ride through the course with one of the instructors in his 2.5 RS (full Sti package including header, exhaust, clutch, flywheel, bushings, etc.) riding on kuhmo street slicks. That was very intimidating- things were speeding past me faster than I could analize what he was doing. He ran a 51.3xx which was a very good run for that course, and was very helpful later on. He also helped set my car's tire pressure (47ish up front and 40 in the rear).
The times on my 3 runs were: 56.329 +1, 53.657, and 51.602 +1. I was extremely happy with the times and I got many props from the other drivers who knew it was my first time. The times ranged from 65 sec. Focus' to 45 sec. open wheel cars. My last time was better than alot of Z28's and Z06's- I was shocked.
Anyway, I had a great time and hate all of you for talking about auto-xing all the time j/k. Can't wait for the next event!!
cliff notes: went to auto-x... dug it!
