Setup audio system for Heavy Metal
Aight I'm a big metal fan. Manowar to be exact and I want to setup a system in my car for Heavy metal. I already have a stereo and I want to go all pioneer. Loudness is not an issue and I do not need to boom my neighbors out of bed. The car is an 89 honda Civic si. Just looking for ideas for optimum sound while riding down the road with or without the windows down. I also want to go all pioneer. Thanks for all ideas.
all pioneer?? okaaaay... if u are going to go all pioneer get the Rev series speakers, for that much money you could get MB quart speakers though, so I dont know why u would waste the money. And pioneer amps are not good at pushing subs. they are decent for pushing mids, they are pretty clean, but their internal capacitors are not large enough to store the power that you would need for a sub amp.
like the last person said go with 10''s. some IMPPs handle 250w rms, and are very tight and efficient.

If you want pionner subs and not looking to spend much but still sound good take a look into these...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...sting
I know they are 12s but they have 10s and for $50 you cant to wrong.
As for amps I would not recommend pioneer, try either RF, MTX or even planet audio amps are decent for the money.

Aight folks I decided to go with all Infinity speakers. Ordered my 6.5" and my 4" Sub and Box will be ordered next week. Thanks for the info on pioneer.

Yes, tens have more punch to them(more for rock music) and 12s sustain alot better(for more rap) 12's are just known to not punch as hard as 10s from what i heard. Kinda how sealed boxes are punch more than ported. Somebody correct me if im wrong.

I had heard the same thing at one time. The 10 had less throw and could handle say a bas drum being hit 240 bpm (beats per minute) Where as the twelve would sustain that first note and possibly distort the following ones. I am most likely wrong on this one as the only big systems I ever had had 15's in it and they just could not handle it at all.

saying a certain size speaker is good for a certain type of music isn't true. 10"s will tend to have a higher frequency response covering a little more of the midbass whereas 12"s will tend to play lower. that depends on the actual sub design though. as far as "punch" that would depend a lot of the actual speaker and the box its in.
in the end a good system is a good system and will play all styles of music equally well. dont buy into the whole this system is good for this type of music idea.

Thanks for clearin that up for me. Is that true for a general statement though? As you said tens in general have a higher frequency, so wouldnt that make them able to hit individual bass drum notes better than a 12? Thats the only thing i considering when i made that statement. Theres more deep, sustained notes is rap, and more bass drum hits and bass guitar notes in rock. In general. Thanks buddy.

With what you are looking for, I would go with a sealed 10 or 12. Preferably a 12. You want a enclosure that will give you very good transient response. Smaller subs can play higher, but you are not trying to play at 1khz with your subs
