engine rotates but will not start

engine rotates but will not start
help, i have a b18 in my 97 civic and the engine will not start. i turn the key it cranks but just wont start, also the check engine light is on if that can help figure this out. i dont think its my battery cuz i just got a new one and everything works fine.

Your check engine light will probably be on because you are in "accessory" mode while starting the car. All the lights in your display should be on i.e. seatbelt etc...
Always check the obvious first : Do you have spark and do you have fuel?

the check engine light should only stay on for a second or so. u gotta be more specific here man what ecu, what model civic, what year engine, b18a/b/c1/c5 ?
