Default Oh ****!! Why my cams look like this!!!???????

I decided to check my valve clearance today and got a look at my cams. They are 2001 spec ITR cams, I bought them brand new and after like 15k miles they look shitty. I took pics, does anyone know what this is, it looks like low oil, or low oil pressure, but I have never had problems like that. This is a perfectly running GSR, it put down 177whp and 129wtq half a year ago, very well taken care of. I can't feel anything on the lobes with my finger, nothing catches with the nail, but it looks bad!

possible problems could be the gridle plate torqued in wrong sequence causing the lobes to brush against the plate. or not enough break-in lube for the cam. or you have some particles that got into the cylinder head.

If its just that one lobe thats, damaged I'd check the oil nozzle plates or whatever their called. Anyways i'm refering to the plate that's sitting just above the cams. one of the holes may be clogged.

Did you use alot of lube when you installed them? Looks like you didn't have enough lube on there when you first put them in. Also for all new camshafts you should break them in gingerly for a bit to ensure something like you're experiencing doesn't happen. I vote installer error sorry.

i kinda agree with him.

but i've seen worst and they run ok, don't worry too much, off course, that is if
the lobes are smooth

same thing happened to my pals car.. what we found out is that the initial lube was NOT enough.. i would say installer error too.. but like someone else said.. i dont think thats much of a problem as it seems like a slight rub.. good cluk
