Rev limit

Default Rev limit

Hey i just put a 91 B16A1 in my hatch and my rev limit is 7,200 RPM is that normal or is it suppose to be higher ?

revlimit should be around 8.200 RPM

yea it should be 8200, where are you reading it from?(stock or aftermarket tach) because i know honda tach's are norotiously inaccurate but i dont think by 1000 rpm! good luck

sounds like you're not running vtec and you have a problem code stored and that mean your'e in a safety mode, limp mode

I've heard that having an auto b16 ecu will have a rev limit of about 7200 or so.

This of course is if it is not converted to a manual ecu.

Vtec works fine the car moves great but it doesnt go past 7,200 the ecu i have is a PR3

7200 is the cold rev limit... let your engine warm up: then try. If that doesnt work, get your ECT sensor fixed.
