Default ZC in a day...

Well I spent part of the day yesterday pulling my ZC outa my beater crx, and getting it prepped to swap into my daily driver crx. Didnt take me to long to get it pulled, considering I've already pulled 2 motors, plus put the ZC in the first time. How long does it average you guys to do a swap? Pull orig motor out, and drop in the new one? ZC is already wired and ready to drop in, as I have already worked all the bugs out of it in my beater crx.

And any my beater I have the front bumper off and the hood, do most of you suggest do that and take radiator out as well? My daily driver has AC and I am wanting to hook it up on the ZC as well. Just trying figure out best, fastest, easiest, most efficient way of doing this swap in a timely fashion. Considering I drive this vehicle to work every day, I am planing on doing it on my day off next wed. I also have fri off incase I run into a problem and dont get it done in 1 day. When I say 1 day I mean like 7am - 10 or 11pm or when I get done.

Thanks

Oh yea, I will have some pictures soon, forgot to take my digi with me yesterday so I am going to take pics as of where I have it so far... With motor dangling above my beater lol

More to come

I always plan to add a day in case of anything needing to be replaced like sensors or if the flywheel needs to be turned. If I'm in a rush I would take at least 4hrs, with 2 buddy's lending a hand. That's taking my time in a rush.

I got the engine out of my car with the hood on the car but getting it back in is another story. Instead of being a dumbass and scratching or denting my hood I just took it off, its not a big deal.

And yes always take out the radiator, you will feel like a retard when the engine swings into it and cracks in in half, radiators are weak and break easily.

Well I did get the swap done. Took me most of the day to pull stock motor and drop in ZC (but I did it bymyself with no additional people, guiding a engine in by yourself sucks!) Everything runs great, have a few pics, will post them up time permitting.

I also got my reese hitch almost done for my crx I just have to drill the hole for the pin and put some braces on it . Dont look to bad, and I have some pics of it coming as well.

3 hours to take enigne out and 3 hours to put another one in. 6 hours is about average for a honda swap if you run into no problems.

yea i did it in my barn (makeshift garage) it has dirt floor, so try getting the old engine off the cherry picker by yourself and moving it off to side so you can get the new motor zc on picker which is sitting off to side as well, when you can't move the picker around in the dirt / mudd (cause i drained the radiator when forgot to drain before unhooking hoses lol)

Search in archived content. There are alot of posts about it.
blown90hatch says you can do it without a cherry picker at all. Rest the car on the ground. Slide motor out.
The motor went in that way at the factory after all.
All I have in my backyard is grass and mud as well. So I'm looking for alternatives to the cherry picker route.

Actually i have done this many times, (when i didnt have a engine puller that is). U have ta let the car all the way on the ground. Then drop the engine on a jack or just on the ground. Next u have ta jack the car real high and pull the engine out. Its a pain in the *** if u ask me, i hate doing it that way.
