question about ep!!
i'm a memeber of he forumn and i own an h22 hatch. i may be possibly letting the car go because of money, smog, and the unreliability of the car. some guy wants to buy it but we'll c. my option was to put a down on an si or a srt4. i really want the srt4 because of the lightning speed it comes with stock but the looks dont attract me as much as the si. my question was, are there any other cars or routes i should concider before making my mind on the si?? mainly the only reason i want the si is the looks. i wont have much money to make this thing fast. But with the srt4, it comes fast, ugly but nothing i can't stand so...i'm just a young kid looking for advice....thanx all....
yes if you want fast.. srt-4... if you want a challenge then get the SI... it's a fun car to drive but it's going to be a challenge to fix up... I'm happy with mines FOR now.... but still working on it...
Have you considered the SE-R? They're pretty cheap and they come stock with 175 hp and Brembo brakes. With the money you save you could add some mods to it and you'd be pimping. Don't forget the 6-speed manual too :-). I was seriously considering the SE-R but I loved the Si's looks. And because I had to keep in the Honda family. I hope this helps with your decision.

dude go wif an EP3, i jus bought that car and had so many compliments, if ur a high schooler like me, people would think the car is damn sexy and its reliable, i'm happy wif it all stock cuz u will like the sound of the motor, and the interior is off the hook. SRT's are ok, buh i'd rather have a honda
My brother has a 04 srt4, and i love it. Theres already a huge aftermarket for them, its already bulit for turbo, and i think its really the best bang for the buck. On the otherhand the si is a honda, you cant go wrong there

Yep, but also the EP3 is a sick *** ride when you have some time and money to put into her
I got over 30,000 miles on mine, with no serious issues.

couldnt have said it better myself. the si is slow as ****. if you want a "race" car...do not buy the si! it is merely a reliable daily driver and i love it for that reason only.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say consider keeping the hatch you have, but put a K20 in it.... even a K20A3 is good torque for a light car, and definitely a reliable, clean engine...and it'll cost you less than a new car.

id have to disagree with the slow as **** part you said there man. in a straight line the neon is hands down faster. if you go at the corners though the si handles better. power ain't everything. it depends on the type of driving you enjoy, and the honda like everyone said is alot more reliable.

well in that case, maybe just cleaning up the cams and valves etc in the current H22 would work as well.

I can understand smog and reliability, but if you think your '92 hatch is costing you now, just wait until you try insuring a new sport compact. I pay 4k a year for my EP and 3k for insurance. With that money, I could buy a '92 in decent shape and swap in a K20A in one year and be running 13's!
What is it that's wrong with your current car that wouldn't be worthwhile to fix? I think an old H22 hatch would be lots of fun.
Plus, with a modded car, you get that uniqueness factor, but if you can't afford to buy a new one and mod it, you won't feel as special. The novelty of owning a new car wears off pretty quickly, especially when you see other ones like yours with goodies. I would think about how much it would cost to fix up your current car vs. what a new car would cost, including insurance.

go with the ep3 just for the sake of not owning a dodge. your insurance will be cheaper on an ep3 than a srt4 and if you throw a jrsc more reliable and pretty damn quick, go turbo if you would prefer more power to reliability, but a turbo ep3 will take an srt4 imo and still have hondas resale and the uniqueness of the ep3
well...my car was bought with no motor and fully striped...the thing sounds le drving with a thousond chains hanging from the back and the motor's jdm...and ontp of that a portflow job, 2 stage 2 skunk2 cams and i/h/e...smog's an issue because i have no smoggers.
thanx to all u guys...for my part the ep3 is my car...i really dont want to get rid of my car but the smog deal isn't doing me any good. there's no point in having a car if it's going to just sit there... i really need a car that's reliable(without having to pay much cash anymore), smog legal, and is comfortable to ride in...remember, i'm still a high schooler and gurlz, freinds, and descent looking/riding cars play a big role. I paid much for my car and i think i could've just boughten something way nicer... but dont get me wrong, love my car. the power's there but the looks and comfortability is just missnig. when and if i buy an ep3, i'll be happy to invest to mae it run low 14s... thanx again to all...
you can get a Saturn Redline
(hehe)!
get the si, its looks good, and if you can save a couple thousand then you can get the jdm type r body for your si.
and in due time there will be tons of products for our cars, and things will be cheaper performance wise.
