Default 4k Idle. B16A1. =(

The recipient car is a 1990 CRX DX.

I went to the wrong place to get this done. They rewired the car for the B16A1 with the SiR Harness. After almost a month of incompetence, I paid them just to get the car back.

It was throwing code 23, he didnt hook up the knock sensor. I did that, now its code free. When i start it, the rpms climb to 4k or so. I really am unsure what could be the cause. The throttle is closed.

Any clue what makes a car climb in rpms on its own?

Im really stumped. Im going over the helms and whatnot tomorrow.

Thanks for any help.

Double check all your vacuum lines, I think there's a diagram of them on hondaperf. If not I'm sure someone's posted it here before.

how far did they get on the swap?

is coolant bled-that can cause erratic idle
is it timed right-that can cause incorrect idle
sounds strange but what throttle cable?
does the vacuum look like a retarded rat's nest?

info please.

The vaccum is correct, I checked that with one of the b16 swap guides. The timing is alright. I think he used the stock throttle cable, its zip tied in there... Which is very sad but since its all the way shut I dont think its the problem here.

I install remote starts and alarms all day, i think i can handle this, but i need some help i guess.

the throttle cable might not be adjusted right or it's probably a vacum problem

alright, perhaps it is vaccum related. How should the throttle cable be adjusted?

I made sure its all the way closed when the pedal isnt being pushed, if theres more to it then that let me know.

Thanks!

Check the map sensors. Make sure the purge controls are pluged in. Make sure they are getting the vaccum from the correct ports.
