I suspect a gas station cheating us, adding more gallons to their counter. I want to do something about it, but I want to be 100% sure. Does anybody know the size of a fuel tank for CRX Si, 1991?

The helms I have for an '88 says 11.9 US Gallons.



I'm assuming its the same for 91 as well, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I read 11 somewhere.

 

got coilovers on? I do and my rear is higher. with me running out of gas, I still have 10 L left...

im guesing u mean 10 gallons?? cause my take is 30L

 

As per '90 CRX helms:
DX and Si = 45 L or 11.9 gal
Hf = 40 L or 10.6 gal.

 

I almost don't want to believe it. I have records for the past 3 years, filling the tank when it started to go down to red. I always fit in something between 7.5 to 8 gallons, about the same milage driven between the fills (around 230 miles). Only a few times during these 3 years, at this "suspicious" gas station, I got in 8.75 to 9 gallons. Same mileage driven.

If filling up after driving in red for couple days, I can get just about 9 gallons in.
Never any more than 9, though.

well its better to fill up after only using 8-9 gallons compared to 10-11.5 gallons...i usually fill up after 210 miles or 6 gallons...i dont want the sediments that might be in the fuel tank to go into my engine...

Isn't that what a fuel filter is for?

the fuel pickup is on the bottom of the tank anyways

 

oh well, thats what ive always been told...

 

If you think station is reading gallons wrong, take a 5 gallon gas can and fill it up, see how much it says it is full Then you know for sure if they are accurate or falsified. Just my 2cp worth

 

Got that idea too, was just too lazy to go and shop for the tank and do it. But maybe it would be worth testing...

 

if you are suspicious why not just change gas stations?

 

Of course I don't go there regularly, just a few times. But I thought I would do something about it, maybe let one of these TV channels to investigate it... that's bad if they really do it in purpose...

 

hmmm, thats weird my 1990 CRX DX never goes over 7.5 gallons, and that is when i am on the E.

 

i've put 11 gallons in my crx. then again, i drive it till it starts "put-puttering".....fuel filter guys, just do it all when you get an oil change.

Are you saying change the fuel filter every 3000 miles?

 

I have anew fuel filter in mine, and still only 7.5 gallons max.

i just filled my tank last friday...and i got aprox. 11.115 gallons in the beast....i had to call someone to ask how many gallons the crx gas tank had....i was like "HOLY ****" cost me $22.00...

 

with my B16 installed in my 88 hatch....mileage went down quite a bit......
