87 crx si wasting gas like a v8?
ok so have an 87 crx si everything is stock on the motor, 3 days ago i put like $8 bucks of gas
the car was on empty so it went up a little less than a quarter drove her home once i was home it was empty already, the next day the same thing and yesterday the same, i dont see no signs of the car running too rich, could it be that my cluster is messed up? or the thing that reads the fuel is messing up? what else could it be? im going to check if my fuel tank has any leaks. thanks

do you still have to fill up or does it just not read right? you do not specify.. how many miles are you able to go?

The old Honda gas guage is not very accurate, specially at the bottom of the tank. Fill it up and then figure out your milage.
Also, a small amount of fuel in the tank is a bad idea, you tend to pick up the gunk at the bottom of the tank. At the very least fill up the tank and run a bottle of injector cleaner.
The fuel pump in that car is out side the tank, but nearly every modern injected car the fuel pump is inside the tank and the gas cools the fuel pump. Fuel pump failure comes when you run on low fuel levels and the fuel pump over-heats. It pays to keep your tank at least half full.

well 3 days ago i pumped seven bucks which is like 2 gallons and a half i drove about a good 15 miles then 2 days ago the gauge was reading empty so i pumped 7 bucks again (like 2 1/2 gallons) i drove the same thing 15 miles, yesterday the gauge was reading empty again, so pumped 5 bucks (almost 2 gallon) on the way to school [yesterday was my graduation] so i dont drive it much or enough to say i that i waste gallons of gas per day but yet my gauge is always reading empty after i drive the car for a few miles after i pumped gas. i check my fuel tank and it has no leaks and it still has gas like a few gallons, but the gauge is reading empty already =[
