Default Critique my allmotor LS setup

ok im new to the all motor stuff so heres what im planing on getting feel free to input what i should get or drop from the list.....o yea please dont tell me to put a vtec head on im strictly nonvtec

LS block stock 81mm bore
LS head port and polish
diy itb's (busa)
ctr pistons ~12:1c/r
cranecams #20 or crower 405a (someone help me decide)
crower valve spring and retainer kit
injectors (unsure if i need larger ones maybe preludes? again help here)
function7 block girdle(anyone think i need this... rev limit 7.5-8k)
arp rod n head bolts
jdm 4-1 header
uberdata tune/pump gas

pretty much i want to spend as little as possible on this setup but make it reliable as u can tell from the list. but if u think its best to get a certain part please explain your reason why. im hoping for 180whp or more the better.

I believe the Hayabusa ITB's would be overkill for an LS. The LS head won't flow as well as a VTEC head, even with mild porting, I think a GSXR 1000 setup done right will yield just as good, if not better, results.

well i cant find anything other than the busa's at the local bike salvage place. Is there a way to still be able to use it? instead of mild porting maybe extreme? if drawbacks are that bad ill try to look for the 1k or 954rr instead.

Hmmm...I have a set of 954RR's if you need them, but Busa's will work fine.

Sounds like a good setup, but the busa throttles are to much for the ls head. all i can say is dont expect to make over 170-180hp thats being generous. but it is possible.

bigger injectors yes........probably 310cc's.

with those cams your choosing from you could probabbly rev it to 8500rpm or more and make good power. so those ARP rod bolts will be an excelent idea if you dont plan to get a set of forged rods.

the block girdle is a good idea also.

its a good setup......should make some good power......if properly tuned im sure you can get over 180whp.

405s require modding the actual head so they fit right, you might wanna look into a hondata gasket a good header and exhaust, 2.5 inch collector and piping. I think you will be able to hit 180 with that set up. Style teg hit 163 hp with crower 404s and stock pistons, you may even hit more than 180 with good tuning.

u sure about that machine work to the head? i thought it was the 405-2 and not the 405A-2(which im going for)

yea im definitly gonna lookin into a nice exhaust setup....im thinking jdm itr header connected to a 2.5in straight pipe and angle it out at 45 degrees under the rear sway bar to a universal apexi n1 exhaust

the 405a's dont need modification the 405s do. anyway good luck revving over 8500 the rocker arms dont like to stay in their sockets past 8500. as far as crane vs crower, the crane cams have more lift/duration at .5" than the similar stage crowers. there was a dude on here makin 200whp with crane #20's and itbs that had the 405a's also and ran faster than the crowers at the track with the cranes.

the cranes are more money though and are usually a special order... personally i would look into the crane #18's. they have a real nice proflile .
