Default fellow hondatuners...please help..crank angle sensor...

97 hatch. a jdm front clip of a gsr (1 piece headlights) its supposed to be obd2..
SCENARIO: the b18c does not have a crank angle sensor at the crank, its in the distributor, i know im using the harness from the D motor, which had the CAS at the crank.
what do i need to do? get an oil pump (2000 type-r for ex.) and all that to make this sensor work or what? ive searchd and all that but i cant come up with a solid answer.
PLEASE HELP ME!!! the engine is not in the car yet. but it will be as soon as i get a mount for it. just trying to get done for a friend.
thanks for any help.

Are you positive you have all the sensor names correct. There is also a sensor in some oil pumps (OBD2) called CKF...

Bump, cause I'm interested also.

What about extending the wires...

There are typically 3 sensors mounted in the distributor to coordinate fueling and timing events, at least on sequentially injected engines. They are the CYL (cylinder), TDC (top dead center) and the CKP (crank position).

In '96, for OBD2, they introduced the CKF (crank fluctuation) sensor to aid in the detection of misfires. This is the sensor located on the oil pump and is not present on JDM engines.

So basically, if you're using the JDM ECU (as you didn't state you were using a US OBD2 ECU), you do nothing as its not looking for the CKF input.
