I currently have two lights on like the title says. I havent checked for cels yet. A couple days ago my secondary o2 sensor wire was cut slightly. When that happened my speedo didnt work and my tach only works sometimes. Yesterday the car died and wouldnt start. I know the alternator is good because I tested it. Also the cut secondary o2 sensor wires are still cut havent had time to fix it or a ride to get the wire. Any ideas on a next step? I just dont see how cutting the o2 sensor wire would cause all this. I know it puts the ecu in limp mode but does it cause the speedo not to work. Anyone have any ideas??

 

No one is going to reply are they? Hopefully its not to confusing. I cut the o2 sensor wire then the charging system light and brake light came on and no speedo and sometimes no tach. Anyone??

 

Did you cut the wire under the car or under the dash? If under the car-could be you shorted it to ground and this will cause a problem for the ECU. Actually the same can be the case if under the dash. You do not need to replace the wire-use a 'butt splice' and shrink tubing to repair it for now.

 

It was cut under the car. Thank you so much. I knew the cut wire was the problem I just wanted to know why exactly it was the problem. Im a novice mechanic. I still need a lot of school lol.
