Default Air Conditioning help!

My setup:

- 2000 Civic DX
- JDM GSR engine
- JDM ITR P73 ECU
- complete AC system from 2000 Civic Si

To make a long story short, the AC is not working. What i mean is that the compressor is not kicking in nor the Condensor fan is running. I have tested both the condensor fan and compressor by hooking them up to a 12V battery and they both worked fine. Check both relays and they are also working. Dryer is new so the pressure switch should be good. I also checked my ECU and the wires checked out (A17 and C5)....what else can it be? The thermometer? Anyone?

Thanks.

find the low pressure switch (should be the only switch that's on the a/c lines)...looks like a oil sending unit kinda...unplug it and jump the wires and see if it will come on then.....if not, then it's wiring or a fuse somewhere......it's supposed to cut off when low or even a bit too full of freon....found this out the past weekend

I think you may have to take it in man. I just got a '94 civic and the air isn't working either. I will prolly take it in to see if its only the freon, which I am praying for :-)

well, just too make sure ... you did have the a/c system (re-)filled when you installed a/c? If not, that maybe the reason...

I reckon you have to push the a/c button and then check at the connectors whether or not you have anything come through ... could be a faulty wire or a broken connector too if relays work properly.

with the AC on, i am getting no signal from the ACC, pin A17, wire from the ECU to trigger my AC compressor. Not sure if i am missing anything else that will cause the ECU to pull the AC compressor. Strangely, the condensor fan is coming on......

question, does the condensor fan ALWAYS stay on with AC running?? Or like a rad fan, it only comes on when it's needed?? If it comes on only when it's needed, what controls it? The thermostat in the evap core??

definately jump the pressure switch and see if it kicks on if so system is under charged (or over, but i am not sure about that) or the pressure switch is bad. Do NOT run it like this for more than 30 seconds though as if it is not charged the compressor could possibly not have enough oil in it and will damage itself. There is also a temp switch on the compressor and and a themostat for the interior dryer(evaporator) that need to be checked. Get ahold of the helms if you can as it walks you thru 90% of what needs to be checked.

Good luck!

Fro those who cares, those who helped, and for the future dare devil that is going to install AC, i finally got around to working on the car again and found my problem. Here it is:

It was so simple, yet so stupid! All thanks to honda Quality control! The problem lies within the underdash fuse/relay box. Basically, the worker who asembled my car shoved one of the plugs into the bottom of the fuse box "the redneck way" bending the AC compressor pin. There was no contact all along hence no signal to the AC compressor! Tested for continuity and found the problem! So much for honda QC! But i am happy that it works!! Thanks to those who helped!
