question about 100 octane

Default question about 100 octane

would this be overkill for 12:1 compression ratio? i want to advance my timing.

I use 100 octane gas in my CRX only because I have nitrous and ZEX recommends 93 octane or better and here in my area we only have 91 on the pump so I buy 100 from a local shop.

Nope, for street driving on 92 we normally pull back the timing on any motor ~11.5:1 and up. You can add more timing in as your octane rating goes up. What kind of race gas are you looking at? 100 isn't all that high and especially not if that's a RON rating.
