"The only problem with the write up in that link is that he says "I kept blowing fuses to I changed it from a 15amp to a 25amp"... This is not smart at all. The wire on that circuit is designed to carry no more then 15amps. Hence the fuse rating. Raising the rating by 10amps is a big jump and can lead to electrical system damage and possibly fires. I would strongly recommend that no one here change thier fuses like this guy recommends. There should be no reason why the switch would cause an increase in current draw. If it does, toss the switch. Its bad."

Find wire.
Splice in switch.
Done.
i better make this into a book and sell it

Many say this isn't the safest way to do it, that a relay is the correct way to accomplish the task.

do you have any idea at all why people say this isnt the "safest" way to do it? or are you just one of those people who like regurgitating things without reason? "they" say that altezzas give an extra 50 horsepowers....TO DA WHEELS YO!!!!
who are they? why is it not safe?
regardless of using a switch, a bunch of extra wires, capacitors, resistors, etc. no matter how you do it, its not going to be "Safe" unless you make it "safe".
use whatever floats your boat, if a switch is rated at the volts and amperage your car is putting through any given circuit, whats the harm?
most of the time leaving exposed circuits and using incorrect hardware causes the issues.
read: if you suck as physics and cant figure out the relation between voltage, resistance, and current, perhaps you should go to a shop to have them mess around for you. You can do lots of damage to a vehicle if you improperly wire anything.

edit: better idea. RGoose, PM me, I'll build a "relay" for you to use to your specs. If interested we'll work out a price.

If I knew the exact schematics of how the relay worked I wouldn't have asked the question in the first place dick.
Here's a thread on relays that I was reading which inspired my first question https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=3

Who said I had the knowledge I needed? I simply stated that others say a relay is safer, that was the point of my question!

Tone down this type of b.s. and you wont have to deal w/ any "ghey namecalling"

a relay is safer if you dont have a hi current switch . I used switches for both my fuel pump kill and ignition kill and no probs at all . i think off hand i used 25A switches though.
But mine work fine. Between those 2 cuts and removeable steering wheel and considering my car is locked up all the time , let them ******* try to steal mine. at least they gonna have to work for it.
