its all depends what the intercooler efficicency is rated at. It based on the CFM flow of the intercooler nad how it can cool the charge.

Each type of intercooler has different characteristics.

The most widely used is the XS intercooler back in the day. but now there are many choices to choose from.

Precision makes a good one for the price.

we are using a greddy 3 row core

11.49 x 23.62 x 4.5 inches

probably over kill for a honda engine but the intake side is always nice and cool

we used to have the type 24 greddy on the car 11.02 x 23.62 x 2.99 inches and made 435 on 20 psi easily - i would have felt comfortable pushing 550 through that and i am sure it would have flowed it

To make 500 hp period core would atleast need to be:
28x8x3 anything less it's like stuffing hamburgers down your throat when your full

You can make 500whp with NO intercooler. I think what explicitspeed is try to say is that a core smaller then 28*8*3 is gooing to severly restrict flow at 500whp.

Well I have PWR 20X8X3 backdoor. I didnt want to get rid of it since its backdoor. If I cant make over 500HP with it then I would sell it and buy a different one. Please let me know if it could be done or I should spray it to make the extra power.
What's the most effecient HP this IC can handle?

I didnt buy from Full-Race or Earl. I had it cutom made. It has a flange for Type R BOV just like full race. If it cant support over 500HP then I'm gonna have to sell it.

Brian Ballard has gone nines with this intercooler.. I think you would be safe to say that it can cool the charge on 500+ hp cars.
