need advice on indash tv install in a 99 GSR
Anyone have a indash tv installed in there integra? If you do or don't im sure you have notice how the climate controls are postitioned to be right in the way of a tv. I think the only way that I can get it to raise and be veiwable is to install the tv in the bottom din. However all the install kits are for the top or i think i have seen kits with both slots open. I was just wanted to hear what other teg owners w/ tv's have done. Thanks...
just as I suspected the avh-p6500DVD that i installed hardly fits. It took everything i had to get the mass of wire tucked and all the center consol peices put back together. The tv is in the bottom din w/ a pioneer cd player in the top. When the tv comes out it hits the air flow / ac buttons. The only way the screen is watchable is if you lay back in the seats. Not that bad when parked but damn its a bitch when driving. What to do now....
yeah it sucks that the radio den is so low on the teg. I have a 99 as well. I know a guy who cut out his center air vents and put it in there. takes a little bit of modding but if fits snugg. Lost the heat in the winter and air in the summer b/c the two side vents can't do it all but you could see the TV. Other bad is, everyone else could see it as well. it stood up kinda high over the dash. So its a rock and a hard place. I have one in my xterra and it cover the controls for the air but its easy to bend down to access them and very easy to see the TV. I've seen the kenwood kvt-910dvd and it fit pretty good in the teg stock din but it was still low and covered the ac controls like yours. So not much you can do.
Lose the passenger visor and put a second monitor in its place and run a lead out of the indash to it. Make it pivot and spin and everyone could see it.
