Default P07 Vx ECU to Run B16B/B18C (spec-R)

Just wondering....KATMAN, on his old jdmhondaparts ecu tuning section (http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/ecu.htm) that the Vx (chippable version) ECU could be reprogrammed/chipped to run DOHC VTEC...but seconary Butterflies open....He also said that its almost identical to p28?.....

Anyone here using this Vx ECU to run DOHC??....please shed some knowledge into this...

ECU chipping and programming How to would also be great... Thanks!

it will not open secondaries. I think you are confused. it is chippable though just like a p28/p30/p72

this is what i read..... from http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/ecu.htm....

"A chipped P28 will not control these secondary butterflies - they will stay open all the time which is not good.

Why? Because running the stock GSR intake manifold with a chipped P28 ECU, which doesn't control the secondaries and leaves them wide open will make you lose about 10ft. lbs. of torque! This has been dyno proven (thanks to Joe.R/honda-hybrid site). So, it's not a good idea leaving the secondaries open. I hear how a lot of people think that leaving these butterflies open will make a GSR/B18C engine more Type-R like....that is a load of hog poop." ....

a lot of us B18C guys dump the stock manifold for the skunk2 piece.

your first post doesn't make sense.

absorb this knowledge that I am about to spew to you...

It doesn't matter what ECU you chip... it can be a p28 or p72 or even a p07, it will run off of the chip. ALL of the settings will run of the chip. you can put a Mugen clone chip on a p72 and it will run identical if you put that same chip in a p28.

its not something that I would DIY if you aren't experienced at soldering... you can send it out to Katman or EG6AJK for a fee. They are very experienced chippers I can vouch for.
