so i finished my swap(or so i thought), its an obd2 b18b an i converted it to obd1 with wire harness an injectors an dizzy an ecu, prob is when i start it i have to give it gas an keep gassin it for it to stay on, on obd2 ls's theres a sensor on top of intake manifold, i have not wired it up yet cuz i jus got the plug to plug into manifold tonite, could this be the prob? jus wonderin on opinions, i will have results tomorow mornin when i wire it up

 

Are you running header out? When I first did my swap I was running header out and when I rev it, it would die because there was not enough back pressure.

 

i just swapped a 0bd2 b18b in my eg and i used the whole obd2 wiring harness, just had to add one wire for the tach it all plugged right up. I also used a pr4 ecu 93ls and everything works fine and the sensor that is on top of the motor i had to disconnect because it opens up and pulls air in and the idle goes to like 1500 when i unplugged it it went down to 1000 and no problems since

 

it is runnin open header but i dont think that should make the motor die like this, i will hook up the exhaust an try it but ive run open header before an had no probs, imma hook up the wire in an hour or two so ill c wat happens

Most likely. What Codes (check engine light) do you have (you should)?

Open header WILL NOT cause this.

 

i have not checked the codes yet, i have a pr4 ecu, im not sure if its obd1 or 0, will this effect anything?

IF the ECU just plugged to your car with no jumper harness (READ: a special harness that converts ECUs of other OBDs to a certain OBD), your ECU is OBD. You sure it does not say P75 on the side of it?

 

its not a p75 for sure, its a pr4, no jumper harness was needed to plug it in so im guessin its an obd1 ecu

 

Maybe, 92-93 ECU

 

If it came from a 92-93, its the OBD-1 Integra motor. Check to make sure all the vacuum lines are (correctly) hooked up.

Make sure there is no oil in the cylinders, ETC. Also, check your timing belt to make sure you didnt jump a tooth.

 

yea i fixed the prob, it was the iac and the map sensor on the tb, thanks for the info
