Do JDM B20z's have higher compression than US B20z?
I don't know if this is true or not, but do the JDM B20z's have a higher compression ratio (bigger dome piston) than the US B20's?
IF the JDM B20z does have a higher compression, what is it?
BTW, what is a stock US B20z's compression ratio?
thanks

99-00 JDM B20B are 9.6:1 PHK compresion pistons
Rated at 146hp
99-00 USDM B20Z are 9.6:1 PHK compression pistons

The dude above said they are different.I wanted him to explain.DUDE

Dudes, the link is to probably the best b20 tech thread there is here. It basically says that the pre-99 b20b's (there were only b's then) are the same on both sides of the pond. Both having the lower cr pistons.
The '99's and up have the same high cr pistons, but they're called z's here, and B's, still, in japan. A tell tale sign of the higher cr is the knock sensor.
BUT, there is the extreme possibility of a mid compression b20b, at 9.2:1 (from japan only). The speculation was that they use a 2 layer head gasket (insted of 3) along with the lower cr pistons to do it. The belief is that those engines come with the low rise "ls" style intake mani.
I just wrote that all out of my memory, so i think it was right, but read the link, dudes.
