Just cant shake my idling issues. Help me trouble shoot.
Background info: 99 SI, 80,000 miles. Right before i parked the car for this past winter i installed a built b18a bottem end onto my stock b16 head. The car ran fine, and pretty strong.
Over the winter i pulled the head, i had the head ported and polished and valves done and springs/retainers.
When i reinstalled the head i threw in some crane stage2 cams. Upon starting the vehicle after everyhing was installed i couldnt get the car to idle. I drove it for a while tryed to play with the fuel pressure, cam timing, and idle position. still no luck.
Then the other day i pulled the valvecover and discovered that the when the crank pulley was aligned at TDC the cams were way retarded. (like 1/2 inch on the crank pulley)
So i thought i had it fixed when i realigned everying and put it into time. The car runs alot stronger now but still doesnt idle quite right. Some times it just stalls out, other times it idles at 1,200 rpms.
What could it be? Could the timing still be out? What else besides the timing should i do. Adjust fuel via FPR and or vafc doesnt help. Also ive even tried running a chip on my p28 that has the idle set at 950 and it still idles exactly like it did with the stock ecu.
any suggestions?
thanks.
