Default Replacing your cat with a test pipe.

I was thinking of replacing my cat with a test pipe. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say if they have done it?

I may be wrong, but ive heard you get a huge fuggin fine if you get caught. But i'd say the positives out-weigh the negatives.

all motor or turbo? there a dyno on team-integra i made a post on a thread once about this but didn't feel like searching. basically testpipe will gain 1-2hp but the cat will gain 1 torque very similar curve almost not worth putting a testpipe but ur call. i bleieve the test was using a carsound cat 94066 not sure but i believe so. the testpipe will make it louder and smell bad but its up to u. this was also done on an all motor car turbo car wil give different result.

get a high flow cat, you wont be able to drive around with your windows down, you will be killed by the CO at a light.

or invest in a good gas mask cause you will be crying from the exhaust

For a few days I had a test pipe on and yes the fumes are strong but if your going to take any passengers like women- they hit the pavement running.

Use a cat the test pipe does not do all that much.

I got a custom test pipe and a fujitsubo cat back. Its very quiet (meaning way quiter then the ricer mufflers). And other then the slight discoloration and the black specks on the bumper. its not to bad at all.

It's not worth it at all. You are not gaining any worthwhile HP. It is EXTREMELY illegal if you were to get caught. It might smells like rotten eggs. It will most likely sound like ****.
